Amritsar (TimeTVPunjab): Ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran have started affecting international air travel from India. Several international flights from Amritsar’s Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport were suspended, causing inconvenience to passengers.
According to airport sources, international operations of major airlines including Air India, Air India Express, SpiceJet and IndiGo were impacted.
✈️ Key Flights Affected:
IndiGo Amritsar–Sharjah (6E-1427) diverted to Surat, later arriving in Amritsar at 7:30 PM.
Air India Express Amritsar–Dubai flight cancelled.
Qatar Airways Doha–Amritsar flight cancelled.
Multiple long-haul Air India flights from Delhi to New York and London were either diverted or cancelled due to restricted Iranian airspace.
Airline officials stated that the closure of Iranian airspace forced rerouting and cancellation of several west-bound flights.
Airport Director Bhupinder Singh clarified that domestic flights remain unaffected, and normal operations continue for local routes.
Passengers have been advised to check flight status with their respective airlines before heading to the airport.
